Item Response Theory models were used to calibrate the high school assessments. In the calibrations, blank responses were treated as incorrect responses. Selected response items were scaled using a three-parameter logistic model (3PL). Constructed response items were scaled with a two-parameter partial credit (2PPC) model. A brief explanation of the models can be found in Maryland High School Assessment Program 2003 Technical Report (February 29, 2004 CTB/McGraw-Hill).
Included in Chapter 6 are the following two related reports.
