Raul Ortiz, Automotive Technology Teacher
Damascus High School, Montgomery County

Raul Ortiz has earned the respect, admiration, and trust of his automotive technology students, their parents, and his colleagues through his inspirational leadership. His students value him as an outstanding teacher, mentor and friend for life. With his foundation of 19 years of actual work experience as a master automotive technician, Mr. Ortiz continued his education to receive his teaching certification and then went on to earn a master's degree equivalency in education. His example as a lifelong learner who strives for excellence inspires his students to pursue their own path of excellence. Mr. Ortiz guided Damascus High School through the rigorous process of achieving two of the highest credentials possible for an automotive technology program. He has also built strong relationships with local auto dealerships enabling him to successfully launch students into their careers.
