Nakia Nicholson is the former principal of Fairmont Heights High School, which was the lowest performing high school in Prince George’s County.  The first two years, Nakia focused efforts on building a strong instructional leadership team and raising academic and cultural expectations for her learning community.  She maintained a clear approach to using data-driven instructional practices to maximize student outcomes and kept the interests of students first.  Nakia’s honed focus and relentless instructional drive led to some impressive results for her school. In year three, her school experienced dramatic growth on math and reading state assessments, making them the highest-achieving high school within the district.  Nakia is an experienced business savvy coach and has trained other school leaders in strategic instructional leadership.  Prior to founding Holson Solutions, Nakia served as Executive Director for Principal Support for Baltimore City Public Schools.  She earned a B.A. in Business Management from National Louis University in Chicago and her M.B.A. from the University of Maryland University College (UMUC).
