Sarah Smith, 6th Grade, Language Arts
Charles County - Milton M. Somers Middle School

Sarah Smith is a career Language Arts teacher. For 32 years she has been teaching 6th grade at her school. A colleague wrote, "Imagine the perfect teacher whose students are happy, engaged, successful learners." She has the ability to motivate students and as one student wrote, "I hated to read and she helped me to advance to become the best reader and writer I could be." Her most cherished rewards are having former students become language arts teachers, and having current students who are the children of former students.
