Media Alert: Maryland's First Lady To Host Inaugural Student Art Exhibition

Opening Reception Set for Friday, October 23 in Annapolis

Baltimore, MD (October 22, 2015)

Maryland’s First Lady, Yumi Hogan, will host a special exhibition of student artworks beginning this week in the House of Delegates Gallery Space located in the Lowe House Office Building. 

An opening reception will be held at 4 p.m. tomorrow (Friday, October 23).

First Lady Yumi Hogan, an adjunct professor at Maryland Institute College of Art and herself an accomplished artist, has been an active supporter of the arts community and advocate for arts programs in schools across Maryland.

Student work from more than 20 Maryland school systems are represented in the exhibition.  The work will be displayed for the next three weeks, then moved to the Maryland State Department of Education.

The exhibition is supported by the Maryland State Department of Education’s Fine Arts Office and the Maryland State Arts Council.
