Media Alert: Teacher Induction Academy Follow-Up Set For Eastern Shore

Teacher mentors from Maryland’s eight eastern shore systems will gather tomorrow in a regional follow-up to the 2014 Teacher Induction Academy held this past June. 

The Teacher Induction Academy Program, funded in part by the federal Race to the Top grant, addresses critical professional learning needs of new teachers.  Working with the New Teacher Center, MSDE’s program is designed to improve instruction quality, strengthen student learning, and increasing teacher retention.

The follow-up session for mentor teachers and others who support beginning educators will focus on Maryland’s College and Career-Ready Standards, as well as providing equity in education. 

 

WHO:   Mentor teachers from Cecil, Dorchester, Kent, Queen Anne’s, Somerset, Talbot, Wicomico, and Worcester Counties.
