Wednesday, May 14
9:30 a.m. – Blue Ribbon Schools Visit to Robert Goddard French Immersion Elementary-Middle School, 9850 Good Luck Road, Seabrook, MD  20706
Dr. Lowery congratulates the school for being named one of Maryland’s six Blue Ribbon Schools for 2014, part of her annual “Tour of Excellence.”  She will tour the school, visiting with teachers, administrators, and students.


Thursday, May 15
9:30 a.m. -  Spring Breakfast - Council for American Private Education – Maryland, Forcey Christian School, 2130 E. Randolph Road, Silver Spring, MD  20904
Dr. Lowery will offer remarks.  The breakfast will honor Del. James E. Proctor, Jr.,  recipient of CAPE-Maryland’s Champion of Education Award.

Friday, May 16
8:30 a.m. – “Universal PreK: Will it Close the Gap?” – Leadership Maryland Education Day, James A. Forrest Career & Technology Center, 24005 Point Lookout Road, Leonardtwon, MD  20650
Dr. Lowery will join Assistant State Superintendent of Schools Rolf Grafwallner to discuss the promise of universal pre-kindergarten.  Dr. Michael Martirano, St. Mary’s County Superintendent, will moderate.

6 p.m. – Seventh Annual Maryland Parent Involvement Matters Awards, Eastern Technical High School, 1100 Mace Avenue, Baltimore, MD 21221
Dr. Lowery will participate in the annual program, the nation’s only statewide awards for parent and guardian involvement in public education.
