The Maryland State Board of Education has rescheduled its December meeting for Monday, December 16, at the Maryland State Department of Education 200 W. Baltimore Street, Baltimore.  The brief meeting will begin at 8:30 a.m. in the State Board room and the public session is expected to last about an hour.

The monthly meeting was originally set for December 10, but inclement weather forced a postponement.  Items on the truncated agenda include the following:

8:40 a.m.         Mathematics Education
The State Board is scheduled to act on an emergency regulation that identifies high school courses that comply with the legislative requirement for four years of mathematics at that level.

9:10 a.m.         Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics
The State Board will review a proposed regulation that would add a certification endorsement for a STEM instructional leader at the elementary school level.
